State: Guangxi

Coordinate: 23° 25' 9" N, 107° 0' 0" E
Latlng basis: stated in text

Time interval: Middle Pleistocene

Max Ma: 0.2896

Min Ma: 0.242

Age basis: U/Th

Geography comments: "in the Bubing Basin"
three corrected U-series dates are given: the text implies that the majority of the fossils are from between a "lower flowstone" dated at 290.600 +/- 45 ka and 287.170 +/- 60 ka and a "middle flowstone" dated at 242.000 +/- 21 ka, and the "upper flowstone" is 14.190 +/- 4.200 ka
the uncorrected lower flowstone ages are treated as "robust maximum ages" but the corrected ones seem to be acceptable, so they are used here

Environment
Lithology: claystone

Taphonomic context: cave

Habitat comments: "mainly sandy-clay interstratified with a few layers of flowstone... Mammalian teeth were very densely concentrated in the upper part of the excavation"
it is not clear whether stone artifacts are present at this site

Methods

Sampling methods: quarry, screenwash

Sample size: 5369 specimens

Years: 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003

Net or trap nights: 0

Basal area status: not applicable

Sampling comments: "excavated during three field seasons (December 1999 to January 2000, October to November 2002, and November 2003)"
sediment was "sieved (0.5 mm mesh)"
