Type specimen: USNM 4047, a set of vertebrae (consists of about 40 vertebrae). Its type locality is Melvin, southeast of, which is in a Priabonian marginal marine mixed carbonate-siliciclastic in the Yazoo Formation of Alabama.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore
